Vernare is a Polka in Bohemian style, which is regarded to the spring time. In the first part of the piece the coldness of winter is still present, which is expressed by open fourths in the melody. In the second part a fresh change in the key and the wavelike melody adumbrates a pleasant anticipation of the spring time. Finally, after a reprise one can feel the growing power of the sun and the awakening of the spring begins.
The premiere of Vernare happened on the 13th of April 2013 in Lichtenberg in the framework of the Spring Concert of the Musikverein Pöstlingberg.
The performance time is about 4 minutes at a difficulty level of grade 3.
